How do you win over your boyfriends family if u meet them in future?

it has been eight months for since i have known my boyfriend but the thing is that we havn't met each other families or that our family knows that much about us but what can i do? because the things is that i heard that my bfs grandmother had said some nasty things about me but she says that to all girls that she thinks is trying to lure her grandson..my bf trys to ignore his grandma but i tild him its ok because she doesn't know me but the the thing is that its hurting me inside that people think of me that way.im really senstive,im 18yrs so can't people cut me some slack?i wonder what it would be like with his sisters or brother or even parents..help
